Moving Preparedness

Updated: Jul 13, 2019

Thinking about "THE MOVE?"

This step-by-step guide listed below will provide you with some of the best ways to prepare yourself for your next move.

Step 1: It's Time to Move - Acceptance will make the process a lot more comfortable.

Step 2: Emotions - Everyone deals with change differently, and expect many different emotions.

Step 3: Best Location – Discuss the place where it would be the most comfortable living. You can refer to our blog post, "Aging and Living Options," for ideas. Once you have established your ideal home, understanding the process of downsizing, utilizing a checklist, and/or doing research/reading will help you feel more at ease with

the process.

Step 4: Decluttering - Start at the beginning stages of your process, since it will be very helpful to you and your family. Reading this article about "stuff" may motivate you to act now. Allow

yourself 1-2 hours every other day to work on this, so you do not become overwhelmed. If it is too overpowering, contact one of our professional organizers to help with the process. There are several apps available that can help you make money by selling your items.

Step 5: Moving Company – Contact moving companies for prices and availability as soon as possible. Our providers will be happy to assist you with this process.

Home is where the heart is, they say;

but hey, the heart is truly within yourself!
